Buttock and Calf Augmentation Complications

Hematomas occur when blood clots form just beneath the skin. These usually disappear after a while but can also be removed with a needle.

Infections do occur, although rarely.

Implant extrusion or displacement may occur.

Capsule formation may occur after a few years.

Asymmetries may be seen with fat injection, though they are usually minor.

Buttock and Calf Augmentation Recovery

Unfortunately since this is an area of the body that is required for almost all movements, you might experience greater pain during the recovery period than other common cosmetic surgery procedures and the recovery time is usually longer (about 7 to 10 days).

Initially, you must wear a compression bandage to mould the new contour of the area. This garment is removed after about three weeks or so.

Most patients return to work after a week of healing at home. They are instructed to avoid heavy lifting and sports so as not to put stress on the healing tissues. It will take a few months before you are able to resume aerobics and strenuous exercise. The full effect of the surgery will be apparent after six to nine months.

A buttock lift leading to the restoration of a youthful contour can be an extremely rewarding surgery.
