Buttock and Calf Augmentation Procedure
The first step as in any plastic surgery procedure is to have realistic expectations. You can hope for an improvement of your current situation, not perfection. Most patients experience a boost in self-esteem and generally feel more confident in their daily activities. If your buttocks really bother you that much, then it's definitely time to go ahead.
The surgery is done under general anaesthesia, and takes about an hour per side. The surgeon makes an incision near the tailbone, and inserts the implants under the muscle on both sides. The wound is closed with dissolving sutures.
For fat injection, the fat is obtained by liposuction of the hips and abdomen. This fat is processed and injected in layers under the muscles. It is necessary to inject about 30-50% more than estimated, because some amount of fat absorption will occur. This surgery takes more time than placing implants.
A compression dressing is applied during surgery to provide compression and support, and is usually removed two to three days later.
You can bathe and begin to move around more normally after 5 days. You may resume work after 7 to 10 days.
The results are seen immediately but the buttocks look more natural and become softer as the muscle stretches over several months following surgery.
